Modernisation of a pallet handling system
Planning and project coordination
Connection to a process control system
SEW frequency inverter upgrade
Interconnection via PROFIBUS
Distributed I/Os (ET200s)
BT-Anlagenbau was commissioned with the modernisation of a pallet handling system with the aim of obtaining a damage- and trouble-free handling of the goods.
Damage-free goods handling
By upgrading from Siemens SIMATIC S5 to SIMATIC S7 controllers and replacing the direct drives with SEW frequency inverters, we were able to achieve smooth and therefore trouble-free starting and stopping of the goods.
Centralised control and monitoring
The new S7 controller allows for a comprehensive centralised data acquisition, connected to the existing process control system via Ethernet. The components themselves were interconnected via PROFIBUS. This helped obtain precise monitoring and centralised control of the processes with a maximum ease of operation!
Optimum service life and simple spare-parts management
Thanks to the frequency-controlled operation of the motors, the mechanical load on all components was considerably reduced. This ensures a significantly longer service life of all components. Moreover, thanks to the central index of all components and their maintenance intervals, spare parts management is now considerably easier!
