System control of a plastics sorting plant

For the construction of Austria's most advanced plastics sorting plant, BT-Anlagenbau was commissioned with all tasks relating to automation. From the implementation of electrical engineering designs to the programming of the controllers, all tasks were successfully completed to the utmost satisfaction of the customer!

The fully-automated homogeneous separation of waste plastics from the Yellow Bin and Yellow Bag waste collection was the top priority of this plastics sorting plant.

Thanks to experiences gathered from numerous successfully completed projects, this key task was implemented for Austria's biggest and most advanced plastics sorting plant within a very short time.

By using very efficient controllers, intelligent programming and optimising sorting processes, it was possible to achieve an annual sorting capacity of 35,000 tonnes.

Thanks to the use of high-quality components, stringent checks during manufacture and the deployment of highly qualified staff, it was possible to ensure the highest quality and maximum reliability in the processing of plastics such as PET bottles, polyethylene and polypropylene.

In this new high-tech plastics sorting plant, not only packaging materials, but also sortable commercial waste is sorted, increasing the amount of such waste being introduced to environmentally sound recycling. Reusable components are recycled and combustible components are used as a substitute fuel for power generation.

From the beginning, great importance was attached to creating staff-friendly workplaces by minimising noise, dust and vibrations. This improves the staff's efficiency and health and helps the company achieve higher productivity! The optimum synergy of profitability and social competence!
