In order to further improve the quality of a market-leading product, BT-Anlagenbau was commissioned with implementing the entire electrical equipment of the hot-cutting system for BDM-rolled bars (tracks). BT-Anlagenbau delivered the electrical engineering know-how for the system. The implementation was executed in line with a precisely defined factory standard.
The hot-cutting system, controlled both automatically and manually, for the cutting of BDM-rolled bars (tracks), beam blanks and blooms with a cross section of up to 300 x 400mm and temperatures of 900°C to 1250°C, was a special challenge for man and machine. Yet, BT-Anlagenbau also succeeded in fulfilling this difficult task to the utmost customer satisfaction.
Scope of services
The automatic detection of the degree of wear of the hot steel core cutting disc adjusts and controls the disc's circumferential speed. This ensures a trouble-free process, preservation of equipment and materials and a prolonged service life.
The cutting disc is driven by means of a hydraulic system with an electrical drive performance of 250kW.
Material handling technology
By handling the BDM-rolled bars and the beam blanks and semi-finished products via a roller conveyor, a speed of 5-6m/s is reached.
The location of the BDM-rolled bars and beam blocks is determined by means of a switch located on the roller conveyor.
